What can be done?
Sunscreen – most Australians apply too little. At
least one teaspoon of SPF30+ should be applied to
each limb, more for the body.
Wear a wide brimmed hat, sunglasses and clothing to
cover exposed skin.
Avoid the sun in the middle of the day, and stay in
the shade whenever possible.
Have regular skin checks as an important part of your
healthcare.
Consult a doctor if you have any new skin spots, or
a spot that has changed in size colour or shape.
