Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer, however if diagnosis is made early, it is usually curable. It appears as a new spot or as a freckle or mole that is changing shape size or colour. Most melanomas have a black area within them but a proportion will appear as a nonspecific pinkish lump.
