Dr Larry Bull, MBBS, FRACGP – Director

Dr Bull graduated from the University of QLD in 1986 and then spent 3 years at the Toowoomba base hospital before taking up the position of Medical Superintendent of Cherbourg Hospital for 3 years. He then established the Mt Coolum Medical Centre and worked in general practice there for 9 years. Dr Bull had a keen interest in skin procedures during this period. Dr Bull attained the Fellowship of the College of General Practice in 1994.

After selling his practice at Mt Coolum Dr Bull together with Dr Scott Wilmot established SolarDerm Skin Cancer Clinics, which have grown to 5 practices in 5 locations with 10 doctors working for the group.
Then ongoing early detection and treatment of all forms of skin cancer especially possibly life threatening melanoma is the focus of our work at SolarDerm and Dr Bull takes great pride in belonging to the team and the great results that we believe we have achieved so far.
Dr Bull is married and has teenage Children.


Dr Angelo Marcolin - MBBS

Dr Marcolin completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1982. He worked in his own country practice in the hinterland for 20 years. He now enjoys working in the Gympie clinic specializing in the detection and treatment of melanoma and skin cancer.


Jennifer Hollingworth - Office Manager
Jennifer has worked for SolarDerm in Gympie since the clinic opened in May 2003. She enjoys the challenges of a busy practice and her contact with all the patients who attend our clinic.


Chris Swan - Practice Nurse
I work in Aged Care and have done for the last 15yrs, so I welcome the change in being the practice nurse in a successful practice. I joined Solarderm in October 2005 and enjoy the company of my work mates. I am married with three children and have lived in Gympie for 10 years.

Ruth Hutchison – Medical Receptionist
Ruth worked as a medical receptionist for a local GP. His retirement from general practice coincided with the opening of SolarDerm and she was more than happy to join the team in Gympie.


Dee Dodds – Medical Receptionist
Dee began her employment with Solarderm in February 2011. She has previously worked as a high school teacher in rural Queensland and as a medical receptionist for a psychiatrist and an orthopaedic surgeon in Brisbane. She returned to Gympie in 2009 to raise her three small children, having been born and raised in Gympie herself. Dee enjoys the friendly team environment at Solarderm and finds her work very rewarding.

Kristy Conley – Practice Nurse
I have been employed with Solarderm since March 2011. I work in Aged Care and have since 2005 performing many roles. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Nursing at university. I am married and have three boys, two teenagers and one in primary school. I thoroughly enjoy working with a great team in a busy environment at Solarderm.

Lisa Hayes – Medical Receptionist
I have recently joined the team at Gympie Solarderm and am enjoying my role as medical receptionist and meeting all of the friendly Solarderm patients. I have moved to Traveston from the Sunshine Coast with my horses, partner and children and love the country life.

Ruth Berlin – Practice Nurse
Ruth has worked as a practice nurse at a local GP Surgery for approximately 10yrs. She brings a wealth of experience to our SolarDerm and is a welcome addition to the team.

Margie Bull – Nursing Assistant
I had the privilege of joining the Gympie Solarderm team in February 2011. This position has been an opportunity for me to rejoin the workforce after an absence while raising my family. I have previously worked in general practice as receptionist and in schools as principal secretary. I enjoy assisting the doctors in what I see as a great service to the community.
