Dr
Larry Bull - FRACGP - Director
Dr Bull
graduated from the University of QLD in 1986 and then
spent 3 years at the Toowoomba base hospital before
taking up the position of Medical Superintendent of
Cherbourg Hospital for 3 years. He then established
the Mt Coolum Medical Centre and worked in general
practice there for 9 years. Dr Bull had a keen interest
in skin procedures during this period. Dr Bull attained
the Fellowship of the College of General Practice
in 1994.
After selling his practice at Mt Coolum Dr Bull together
with Dr Scott Wilmot established SolarDerm Skin Cancer
Clinics, which have grown to 5 practices in 5 locations
with 10 doctors working for the group.
Then ongoing early detection and treatment of all
forms of skin cancer especially possibly life threatening
melanoma is the focus of our work at SolarDerm and
Dr Bull takes great pride in belonging to the team
and the great results that we believe we have achieved
so far.
Dr Bull is married and has teenage Children.
Dr Scott
Wilmot - Director
Dr
Wilmot grew up in Sarina, North Queensland, moving
to Brisbane to study medicine at the University of
Queensland. Following graduation in 1993, Dr Wilmot
commenced his medical career at Nambour General Hospital
completing 2 years of work before traveling overseas
during most of 1996.
Upon his return, Dr Wilmot was drawn to General Practice,
working in Nambour, Cooroy and Gympie, before attaining
his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of
General Practice in 2000.
A strong procedural interest led to work in the field
of skin cancer medicine, and the establishment of
the SolarDerm group with Dr Larry Bull. He enjoys
every facet of melanoma and skin cancer work along
with the day-to-day management of SolarDerm Clinics,
and takes great pride in the level of care being provided
to the people of Queensland.
Hours outside work are devoted to family life, the
all-to-infrequent game of golf, and with a wife, and
three young children, the time is very well spent.
Dr
Charles Elliot, MBBS Qld, DCH, DRCOG, FRACGP
Dr Elliot Graduated from University of Queensland medical
school in 1978. After post graduate experience in
Australia and the UK, he worked in a rural practice
in Pomona for 20 years. He enjoys skin surgery and
cancer detection and works at Caboolture clinic.
Penny
- Office Manager
I commenced working with Solarderm in March 2007.
In the last 7 years I have been working in Administrative
positions but prior to this I worked for a local general
practice for 3 years.
I am looking forward to working with the staff and
doctors at Caboolture and other Solarderm clinics.
Liz-
Receptionist
Liz began working with SolarDerm in June 2006. She
has lived in the area all her life and has three young
children. Before taking time off for maternity leave,
Liz worked for a large local General Practice for
approximately ten years.
Margaret
Sinclair –Practice Nurse
Margaret completed her nurse training in Edinburgh,
Scotland and also completed a post graduate Diploma
in Nurse Education at Edinburgh University. She then
immigrated to Australia in 1982 with her husband and
children and settled in the Caboolture Shire. She
spent 4 years nursing in the intensive care unit at
The Prince Charles Hospital before returning to nurse
education at the RBH. Wanting to work closer to home
Margaret became employed at the Caboolture Hospital
and nursed in the Critical Care Unit for 5 years until
April 2007. Margaret has always been interested in
healthy skin and wound healing and joined the Solarderm
team at Caboolture in May 2007. She looks forward
to the new challenges in her role at the clinic. When
not working Margaret loves oil painting and supporting
the local artists Art Gallery in King St Caboolture.
Margaret also plays bridge and attends Yoga classes.
Helen Doughty - Practice nurse
I grew up in a small town south west of Sydney. When I left school I completed a commercial art course. After this I trained as a nurse at the R.A.H.C Sydney. Enjoyed working in both private and public hospitals mainly in surgical wards. Travelled overseas for 12 months and worked on a cruise liner for 6 months.
Then I was nursing in central Queensland where I met my husband who was mining sapphires. I then owned and ran a caravan park in The Whitsundays for 6 years. We have been living on the Sunshine Coast for 11 years on a macadamia farm and I have been working in Aged Care. Recently I commenced work at Solarderm. I enjoy painting, drawing, yoga and theatre.
Lesley Hunter – receptionist
I joined the Caboolture practice on 8th January 2009.
I have been in the medical industry all my working life, commencing as a nurse then minesite paramedic and remote area nurse.
I changed to the administration area 10 years ago and enjoy this very much.
Solarderm is a great company to work for and I hope to spend many happy years looking after the wonderful patients.
